Athletic Director's Letter

Your generosity maximizes student-athletes’ potential

As the father of three teenagers, I’m reminded every day of their remarkable potential to achieve their dreams. As their dad, it’s my job to support them in every possible way. As Washington’s Athletic Director, my job is much the same. Our mission is to maximize student-athletes’ potential: in academics, in competition and in life.

We are grateful that Tyee Club members like you help us shoulder that awesome responsibility.

Your support fuels our ability to empower young people to live, learn and grow with the confidence that you’re in their corner. Your generosity provides them with the tools they need to excel, from nutrition to performance technology to care for their physical and mental health, and so much more. Your philanthropy inspires us all to be better today.

In this publication, we share our gratitude in print. Every day, we share it in principle. Our student-athletes, coaches and staff understand that nothing extraordinary occurs in isolation. We succeed because of the loyalty and generosity of the people who support us. That’s never been more important than today, as we take our place among like-minded Big Ten universities who share our passion for both academic and athletic excellence.

I was excited to learn that nearly 1,200 of you donated for the very first time this past year. That tells me that our dedicated student-athletes continue to be a source of inspiration and joy, not just to those who’ve loved the Huskies for generations, but to those who are new to our pack.

There’s something magical that happens in our locker rooms, on our fields and courts, in team meetings and in class and in our community. The young men and women of Washington are realizing their potential, while also providing magical, memorable experiences to Husky Nation.

Your support creates that magic. Thank you.
